Windy days!

Poor Hope is not enjoying these windy days in Wyoming. Her favorite place is now in the shower in our bathroom. It is the only place that is somewhat quiet. We had sustained winds of 40 plus miles per hour with gusts over 50 all day long. The other day we had to tie down our barbecue to the deck because it went flying across the deck and hit the side rail like it was built out of plastic. It is a good size barbecue and watching it fly by the sliding door was a little frightening. So is Wyoming the best we can do????

More holiday fun

Piper enjoying her visit with her cousin Tate.

Max does not want to be left out and he wants everyone to remember that I am still his Mommy too!!

Holiday traditions

Piper's first time hearing the Santa Mouse story. She seemed to enjoy it.

So happy!

We are very happy to have arrived safe and sound. Piper was my little trooper, she seemed to take everything in stride. I would like to thank my dad and Grandma Kay for helping us make the trip out here. We could not of done it without you and it means so much to us to have such support. Thank you mom for letting dad be gone to help us with this move. I know it wasn't easy having to stay home. Piper can't wait to see you soon! We will give you at least 2 weeks notice when we move next ....ha ha ha

We arrived!

The truck arrived on a howling blustery day!! The driver said our last driver offered to take him out to dinner for moving us... I think we are getting a reputation with the Wheaton Moving Company and it isn't necessarily a good one. We seem to pick somewhat difficult places to get to. I don't even know what residential housing looks like anymore.

Here is the house we are in for now. We are renting for now but it is a little crowded out here so we may move more in the "country".....did you note the sarcasm in that?

The journey continues..

Piper seems to have that look as if saying "where are we going to now?" Little does she know how many places she has already been.....

The adventure begins!

So after about 7 or 8 attempts to get the truck up the hill and turned around he thought it would be a good idea to have the suburban pull him up the hill....this is when I ran to get the camera and the guys who were with him to help load joined me far away behind the trees, thinking this can't be a good idea. After the truck moved about 1 foot ( the poor suburban gave it all it had) they decided to jack- knife the truck into position. Note that the truck already had two loads in it and that morning it had just snowed enough to make the hill slick. Our driver was DETERMINED to get the truck in position though, since we had sayed the last driver did it. Of course he had done it in perfect weather and the hill wasn't slick at all. It all worked out in the end and gave us some good entertainment!

Quality time

Piper having some quality time with dad. She has started giving us little smiles. She is changing everyday and we are enjoying being new parents.
What a peaceful looking picture. It makes me want to run and take a nap.

Virginia snow

We woke up to snow the other morning. I hope winter doesn't arrive too early, we want to get to Wyoming before we experience too much snow. Piper is starting to collect some winter wardrobe...some she has to still grow into.

Farm fun!

Ben and Desi playing at the local farm that was having a fall celebration. We had a great time visiting with Rhea, Paul, and the kids! Thank you for coming to Virginia to celebrate Piper's arrival. We hope we can all be together again soon! We miss you.

Life has gone to the dogs!

Ben and Desi enjoying some quality time with Max and Cash (Yes that is Max, there is no trick photography with these photos) All the dogs miss Ben and Desi. Our energy level is just not as fun now that they have seen what play time can be like!! Cash has met his match and he loves it.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Janice thank you for the Halloween outfit for Piper. We are enjoying all that comes with being new parents. We can't wait to share with everyone as Piper grows and experiences new things!

Welcome to the family Piper Alexis Thompson

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new grandaughter and trying to keep Joel from falling out of his chair.

Piper Alexis Thompson arrives safe and sound at 12:37 pm on 10/6/08. Weighing in at 7lb 5oz.

Piper out for her first walk in the woods.

Piper all cleaned up after her first bath at home.

October in Virginia

A few photos on the way to our house. The one with the horses in the photo is the driveway heading to our house. The other photo is taken on the hillside above our house. As you can see we are lucky to be remote but we are close to town. Virginia is beautiful in the fall. We love watching the colors change!

Final countdown!

We are getting very close! I am scheduled to go in on October 6th for a scheduled c-section if I don't go into labor earlier. She has been stubborn and is in breech position. We will let everyone know when she arrives and then reveal her name (which we still can't decide on).

Virginia

Taking a much needed break at the New River near our house. Thank you Mom, Dad and Kay for getting me and the dogs here safely. We are settling in well and anxiously awaiting our newest arrival!

Virginia

The truck arrived in Virginia promptly and everyone arrived safe and exhausted! Ready to begin more adventures.

On the road

Without the help of the parents this trek to Virginia would not of gone so smoothly. The dogs and I thank you!!!

Virginia move

Preparing for the move. So many chores so little time, but how wonderful to have a moving company arrive to help!

Moving to Virginia

The moving van was on it's way and there was still work to be done on the farm. Joel was in Virginia "working" and I was left to "git-r-done" before I could leave. Being 7 months pregnant, at least my polyester house dress was roomy.
